Tonight I got to spend a couple of hours in one of our local rehabs giving a taster session of our five point acupuncture and meditation, and it was great. I never cease to be amazed at how quickly a noisy hectic group settles down once the pins go in. It really is an amazing thing to see. Out of the eight clients I worked with tonight, four had experienced acupuncture before and four had not. A nice balance to start with.
Feedback from tonight was really positive and I'll be back next week to deliver another taster session to the clients I couldn't fit in. To be honest, at the moment my biggest problem is going to be finding the spare time to get in there and meet the current demand. Saying that, I'd rather it be like that and I get the chance to give people a glimpse of the benefits available from acupuncture. Long may it continue.

What i do
I stick needles in ears, have done for a while now. Thousands of needles in hundreds of ears with the most amazing results. Getting trained in and have the chance to consistently practice and develop my skills in auricular accupunture has been, and continues to be a truly mind expanding experience.
So, what is Acupuncture?
The classical Chinese explanation is that channels of energy (called Chi) run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers is like a dam that backs up in others.
The meridians can be influenced by needling the acupuncture points; the acupuncture needles unblock the obstructions at the dams, and reestablish the regular flow through the meridians. Acupuncture treatments can therefore help the body's internal organs to correct imbalances in their digestion, absorption, and energy production activities, and in the circulation of their energy through the meridians.

Do I need to believe?
DO I HAVE TO BELIEVE IN
ACUPUNCTURE FOR IT TO
WORK?
No.
Acupuncture is used successfully on cats,
dogs, horses and other animals. These animal
patients do not understand or believe in the
process that helps them get better.
A positive attitude toward wellness may
reinforce the effects of the treatment received,
just as a negative attitude may hinder the
effects of acupuncture or any other treatment.
A neutral attitude ("I don't know if I really
believe in this.") will not block the treatment
results.
